The Nigerian Book Fair Trust (NBFT) has officially announced the dates for the much-anticipated 24th Nigerian International Book Fair (NIBF), scheduled to take place from Wednesday, May 7, to Friday, May 9, 2025. The event will be held at the prestigious Balmoral Convention Centre, located behind Sheraton Hotel, 30, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos State.

This year’s theme, "Local Paper Production: Panacea to Affordable Book Production and Qualitative Education," underscores the vital role of indigenous paper production in reducing book production costs and enhancing educational quality in Nigeria. According to Mr. Dare Oluwatuyi, Chairman of NBFT, the theme aims to ignite crucial conversations and policy recommendations towards revamping the nation’s publishing industry.

The 24th edition of NIBF promises to be a landmark event, bringing together key stakeholders in the book industry, including publishers, authors, educators, policymakers, and book enthusiasts. The fair will feature a variety of engaging sessions, workshops, book exhibitions, and networking opportunities designed to stimulate intellectual discourse and drive innovation in the literary landscape.

NIBF 2025 will also serve as a platform to explore solutions to challenges facing the Nigerian book industry, particularly in the areas of local paper production and cost-effective publishing. The event will highlight success stories, best practices, and innovative strategies that can be adopted to strengthen the publishing sector and make books more accessible to the Nigerian populace.

As preparations for NIBF 2025 gain momentum, the Nigerian Book Fair Trust extends an open invitation to organizations and individuals to support this noble cause by participating as sponsors or exhibitors. Sponsorship packages provide valuable opportunities for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to education, literacy, and community development while gaining exposure to a diverse audience of book lovers and industry professionals.

Prospective exhibitors will have the chance to showcase their books, educational materials, and publishing services to a vast audience, creating opportunities for collaboration and business expansion. In addition to traditional book displays, the fair will also incorporate digital and multimedia publishing advancements to reflect the evolving nature of the global book industry.
